AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Illinois diving team completed its time at the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational in Austin, Texas, on Saturday afternoon at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Sophomore Taylor Shegos and freshman Erin Young competed in the platform dive and etch their names on the all-time top-10 top dives list in program history for the event.
Shegos recorded a career-best score of 179.35 to take fifth place. The Fenton, Mich., native's total places her in seventh on the all-time top-10 top dives list. Young claimed sixth-place with her five-dive total 174.90 and earned the 10th-place spot on the program's all-time top-10 list, as well.

The Illini diving team will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Saturday, Dec. 7 when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. for the Rutgers Diving Invitational, hosted by Rutgers.
Illinois Divers Finish Day Two in Texas
The final day of competition will resume Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m. CT
AUSTIN, Texas – The Illini diving team wrapped up day two of competition at the Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational in Austin Friday evening at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Sophomore Madelyn Crosby and Taylor Shegos, and freshman Erin Young all participated in the lone event of the day, the one-meter dive.
After competing in the preliminaries, Shegos and Crosby advanced to the finals. Shegos claimed sixth place with a six-dive total of 249.65, while Crosby placed eighth with a score of 231.60
Action at the invitational continues tomorrow with the platform dive beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT. The finals will be aired on the Longhorn Network
Illini Divers Complete Day One of the Texas Diving Invitational
Day two of competition will continue Friday, Nov. 22 at 12:20 p.m. CT
AUSTIN, Texas – The Illini diving team finished its first day of the Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational in Austin earlier today at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Sophomore Madelyn Crosby and Taylor Shegos, and freshman Erin Young all competed in the three-meter diving, the only event of the day.
The trio competed in the preliminaries, as Crosby dove her way into the finals of the three-meter. The Boerne, Texas, native had a six-dive total of 245.15 to take eighth place in the preliminaries, allowing her to move on in to the finals of the event. In the finals, Crosby placed seventh with a score of 244.70.
Young recorded a personal-best of 234.55 in the preliminaries, while Shegos totaled a 217.45, finishing in 10th and 11th place, respectively.
Action at the Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational resumes tomorrow with the one-meter dive beginning at 12:20 p.m. CT. The finals will be aired on the Longhorn Network
