Top Times/Dives

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team will head East to take on Youngstown State and Saint Francis in a two-day meet, held Jan. 18-19, at the Beeghly Natatorium in Youngstown, Ohio. Friday's first event is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT, while Saturday will get underway at 10 a.m. CT. 

Scouting the Penguins

Youngstown State enters the weekend having not competed since Nov. 18. Last time out, YSU placed 12th at the Magnus Cup Invitational, finishing with a team total of 70. The Penguins were led by Tiphanie Saint-Gilles, who placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.11) and seventh in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:19.78).

Illinois took down Youngstown State, 166-75, a year ago in Champaign. 

Scouting the Red Flash

SFU enters the weekend with an impressive 8-3 record on the season, having picked up wins over Assumption College, Holy Cross, Fairfield, Merrimack College, Providence, LIU Brooklyn, California University of Pennsylvania and Siena College. Last time out, the Red Flash swept all 11 events from Siena on their way to a decisive 120-70 victory.
