FAIRFAX, Calif. – Due to frost on the course in the morning, the 22nd ranked Illini played just one round of golf on Monday. The team currently sits in fifth place with a day one total of 295 (+7).
Junior Bing Singhsumalee led the way for the Orange and Blue, carding a 72 (E) to sit in a tie for eighth place heading into the final round. Seniors Dana Gattone and Grace Park posted rounds of 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) and are tied for 14th place and 23rd place, respectively.
Sophomore Tristyn Nowlin is tied for 43rd overall after a first round total of 76 (+4), while freshman Ali Morallos carded a 79 (+7) and sits in a tie for 60th.Â
Washington leads the way at 5-under par, followed by San Francisco (+3) and Colorado (+3). Oregon State sits in fourth place with a 294 (+6) total.
The second and final round of the Meadow Brook Spring Invitational will begin with fixed tee times beginning at 11 a.m. CT.Â
