Bonner Runs for Career High in Illini Loss to Iowa

CHAMPAIGN - Ra'Von Bonner ran for a career-high 96 yards in Illinois' 63-0 loss to Iowa on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The Fighting Illini honored it's senior class in the final home game of the season.

Illinois wraps up the 2018 campaign at Northwestern next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm in the Land of Lincoln rivalry game.

TEAM NOTES

Illinois leads the all-time series 38-34-2 and holds a 20-15 edge against the Hawkeyes in Champaign.

Nine Fighting Illini seniors were recognzied prior to their final home games at Memorial Stadium (OL Nick Allegretti, QB AJ Bush Jr., WR Mike Dudek, WR Zac Holman, WR Sam Mays, K Chase McLaughlin, WR Shaedon Meadors, LB Del'Shawn Phillips, TE Austin Roberts).

Illinois started one true freshmen (S Delano Ware).

Illinois' true freshmen have combined for 30 starts, tied for the fourth most in a season in Illinois history. Last year, Illinois set the program record with 86 cumulative true freshmen starts.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

Sophomore RB Ra'Von Bonner rushed 21 times for a career-high 96 yards.

Sophomore DE Bobby Roundtree had two sacks for the second-straight game and third of the season. He now has a team-high 8.5 sacks on the season. 

• Senior LB Del'Shawn Phillips' first quarter interception was his fourth this season, the most for an Illini in a single season since 2015 (Barton - 4).

• Senior OL Nick Allegretti started for the 35th straight game.

• Sophomore OL Alex Palczewski started for the 22nd straight game.
