CHICAGO – Illinois diving team members had a great day at the UIC Diving Invitational, with Madeline Kuhn winning the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 266.90, and placing second in the 1-meter competition.
Kuhn, a sophomore, finished at 247.40 in the 1-meter competition, just 1.90 points behind the winner from UIC, Katy Knight.
Lauren LaPeter placed sixth in the 3-meter competition, the highest among all freshmen at the invite, with a score of 219.40. In the 1-meter competition, LaPeter placed 11th with a score of 201.15.
The UIC Diving Invitational marks the end of the regular season for the Fighting Illini swim and dive team. Up next are the Big Ten Championships, set for Feb. 15-18 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
