Champaign, Ill. - Illinois freshman Jaelyne Kirkpatrick and sophomore Chatrice White helped their respective teams to wins in Saturday's (July 18) opening round of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championships. Kirkpatrick helped team Canada to a 71-62 victory over Mali while White and team USA topped Spain, 72-57.

Kirkpatrick tallied three assists and three rebounds for Canada. The full recap can be found here.

White saw 12 minutes on the floor for the United States and grabbed two steals in the game. 

Kirkpatrick and Canada will face France tomorrow, Sunday, July 19, in a 7:45 a.m. CT matchup, while White and the USA face China at 12:15 p.m. CT. Live video can be found on the FIBA YouTube site, and recaps will be posted on FIGHTINGILLINI.com following each day of play.
