CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini opened the fourth season of the Shauna Green era with a 79-60 win against Maryville at State Farm Center on Thursday night.
A total of 12 different players earned playing time in the victory, with six student-athletes also making their Orange and Blue debuts. 
Illinois' first starting lineup of the 2025-26 campaign featured three returners – Jasmine Brown-Hagger, Gretchen Dolan, and Berry Wallace – along with freshmen Destiny Jackson and Cearah Parchment. Irene Noya Catoira and Maddie Webber were the first Illini off the bench.
Parchment posted a double-double with a game-high 22 points along with 13 rebounds. Leading all scorers with 12 first-half points, Parchment finished the night by shooting 7-for-11 from the field while also tallying two assists and a steal.
Dolan amassed 17 points while knocking down three 3-pointers. Going 7-for-13 from the field, she also notched two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Wallace also registered double figures, logging 11 points while going 3-for-3 from the free throw line. She also tacked on four rebounds, three assists, and a block.
Lety Vasconcelos collected seven points, seven rebounds, and a block, while Jackson ended the evening with nine points, four steals, two rebounds, and two assists.
Webber totaled six points, two rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
