Singles Bracket | NCAA Tournament Central
WACO, Texas -Â The NCAA released the tournament draws for the 2015 Singles and Doubles Championships Tuesday morning. The Illini will feature two athletes in the singles draw, which gets underway on Wednesday, May 20, including
Jared Hiltzik andÂ
Farris Gosea.
Hiltzik's first round matchup is scheduled for 9 a.m. CT vs. Duke's Raphael Hemmeler. If he advances, Hiltzik will battle the winner of the No.9-16 Dominik Koepfer (Tulane) vs. Lukas Ollert (Auburn) contest. Other seeded opponents in Hiltzik's portion of the bracket include No. 3 Mackenzie McDonald (UCLA), No. 7 Noah Rubin (Wake Forest) and No. 9-16 Yannick Hanfmann of USC.
Farris Gosea will begin his first round matchup at 12:30 p.m. CT against No. 9-16 Quentin Monaghan of Notre Dame. A possible second round matchup looms with Roberto Quiroz (USC) and Jack Findel-Hawkins (North Florida). Other seeded opponents in Gosea's portion of the bracket include No. 4 Andrew Harris (Oklahoma), No. 6 Soren Hess-Olesen (Texas) and No. 9-16 Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee.
In doubles, Kopinski and Guignon were at large selections and planned to face San Diego's Jordan Angus/Filip Vittek in the first round. However, due to injury the senior duo was forced to withdraw from competition.
