AUSTIN, Texas - Play at the Challenge at Wolfdancer was halted midway through round two due to darkness at the par-72 6,141-yard Wolfdancer Golf Club. The remaining holes of the second round along with the final third round will be completed on Monday beginning at 8 a.m. CT. Illinois finished round one in 14th-place after posting a score of 331, and currently sits in 12th-place at 58-over par midway through round two.
Freshman Samantha Sloan led the Illini on day one and is tied for 28th at 11-over par. She opened the day with an 81 and is currently at two-over through nine holes of round two. Sophomore Raquel Hopton turned in an opening round 83 and has played 13 holes of round two at three-over par, placing her in a tie for 36th. Senior Nancy Featherstone shot an 84 in the morning round and is through eight holes of round two at three-over. The Franklin, Ill., native is currently tied for 41st. Freshman Hailey Koschmann tallied an 83 in the first round and is seven-over through seven holes of round two, putting her in a tie for 59th. Freshman Kaitlyn Wampler shot an opening round 94 and is eight-over through 13 holes of the second round, placing her in a tie for 86th.
Colorado currently leads the 16-team field at 32-over par, two shots ahead of second-place Idaho and five shots in front of host Texas State.
