RIO VERDE, Az.- The Orange and Blue women's golf team is in 15th place (309-313=622) after Saturday's 18 holes at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University at the par-72 Quail Run Course at the Rio Verde Country Club. The Illini remain led by junior Seul Ki Park (T17th), who carded a 79 during play today, giving her a 36-hole total of 151.
Following Park is fellow junior Casey Burden tied for 22nd (76-76= 152), sophomore Nancy Featherstone tied for 65th (81-77= 158), and junior Kristine Cook in a tie for 84th (80-82= 162). Junior Kristin Kallergis is tied for 89th (82-81= 163) and senior captain Meghan Naik ended play tied for 92nd (83-81= 164).
Toledo edged out day one leader Baylor University to claim the leadership position, firing a team total of 289 today for a 36-hole total of 587. Baylor closely follows two strokes behind with 589, and Arkansas-Little Rock rounds out the top-three with 594.
Individually, Baylor's Allison Martin still holds on to the leader position (69-72=141). Arkansas-Little Rock's Sara Wikstrom (73-70=143) follows and Toledo's Kim Kester (71-73=144) and Boram Lee (72-72=144) round out the top-three.
