Challenge at Wolfdancer Day One Leaderboard
BASTROP, Texas - Illinois finished day one at the Challenge at Wolfdancer tied for sixth with Sam Houston State after posting a 36-hole total of 624. The Orange and Blue carded an opening round 313 followed by a second round total of 311 at the par-72 6,093-yard Wolfdancer Golf Club. Senior Seul Ki Park led the Illini with a five-over 149, tying her for fourth overall.
Park notched nine birdies on the day, firing a 75 and 74, respectively. She trails the co-leaders from Middle Tennessee State, Taryn Durham and Morgan Hale, by three strokes. Senior Kristine Cook (79-76-155) sits tied for 18th after carding a 155. Junior Nancy Featherstone added rounds of 81 and 80 to finish tied for 42nd with a total of 161. Freshman Raquel Hopton (78-84-162) sits tied for 49th in her second tournament of the fall season. Senior Stephanie Mory (83-81-164) rounded out the scoring for the Illini and sits alone in 58th.
Middle Tennessee State (305-298-603) sits atop the leaderboard after day one, leading Northwestern (304-301-605) by two strokes. Iowa State (303-306-609), Baylor (308-311-619), and North Texas (314-309-623) rounded out the top five.
