FRANKLIN, Ind.- The Fighting Illini women's golf team is tied for fourth place after two rounds of play at the 18-team Shootout at The Legends, held at The Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin, Ind. (par 72, 6,073 yards). The Illini shot a two-round total of 598, besting last year's day-one total of 605 strokes. Campbell University (587) currently leads the field, followed by the University of Toldeo (593).

Illinois is once again led by junior Seul Ki Park, carding a one-over-par 36-hole total of 145 (71-74). Park, who boasted similar success at the 2005 Shooutout at the Legends tournament carding a career-best round of 69, is currently tied four fourth place with Missy Linnens of Missouri State, and is three strokes behind leaders Tammy Clelland of Toldeo and Campbell's Mary Mattson. Park's first-round 71 is the lowest round of the fall by a UI golfer.

Sophomore Nancy Featherstone follows Park in 24th (72-79=151). Featherstone's round-one total of 72 marks a new career-best, beating her previous record of 78. Following Featherstone is junior Stephanie Mory, who carded a season-best of 73, and is currently tied for 31st (79-73=152).

Other Illinois totals include junior Casey Burden tied for 43rd (79-75=154) and senior Meghan Naik (83-75=158) tied for 60th. Today's 36-hole team total marks the best the Illini have seen in tournament competition thus far this season, including a season-best round of 297.

Illinois will conclude fall tournament-play tomorrow, playing 18-holes with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at The Legends Golf Course.
