Madison, Wisconsin - The Fighting Illini women's golf team opened the 2003 fall season today at the Badger Invitational, but round one play was suspended due to heavy rainfall. The Badger Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, is being held at the par 72, 6,025-yard University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Wisconsin.
The Illini, playing on holes six through ten when play was suspended, currently stand in second place at eight over par, five-shots behind Michigan State.
