
Football News' Announces 2002 Preseason All-America Team

University of Illinois cornerback Eugene Wilson and offensive tackle Tony Pashos were named Football News' first-team All-Americans which will be featured in the magazine's college football preview issue which hits newstands on July 15.
Both Wilson and Pashos have been named to nearly every preseason publications All-America lists. Wilson returns for his senior year after leading the nation in passes broken up and picking off six passes. His 10 career interceptions rank fourth among active defensive backs. Pashos, also a senior, led an offensive line that amassed over 5,000-yards of total offense for the first time in school history. The Illinois offense also set a school record with 32.5 points scored per game. Pashos ranks third among active offensive linemen with 35 career starts and has the opportunity to set Illinois' all-time start record this season.
On Football News' All-Big Ten teams, in addition to Wilson and Pashos, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd and linebacker Jerry Schumacher were named to the preseason first-team All-Big Ten team. Lloyd led the team with 1,062 receiving yards and tied a school record with 10 touchdown catches. Schumacher led the defense with 125 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and six sacks.
