Harvey Scores Twice in Spring Game

Rocky Harvey scored two touchdowns and Kurt Kittner thre for 140 yards as the Illini Blue team defeated the Illini Orange 31-7 at the 1999 Illinois Spring Game at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Elmer Hickman began the game's scoring with a 14-yard rushing touchdown to put the Blue team ahead 7-0 with 11:49 left in the first half. Steve Havard doubled the lead with a 1-yard score on the ground at the 4:28 mark. Rocky Harvey added to the lead with a 5-yard scoring run with 1:28 on the clock. The Blue team led 21-0 at the half.
B.J. Ogata scored the only Orange team touchdown of the game with 3:48 left in the second half on a 30-yard reception from Walter Young. Harvey's second touchdown made the score 28-7 and came with 2:21 left on a 12-yard pass reception from Kittner. Neil Rackers capped the scoring with a field goal as time expired.
Jameel Cook carried 12 times for 80 yards in the game, including a 16-yard reception. Kittner was 14-25 for 140 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Young completed 15 of 26 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.
