Director of track, field and cross country Petros Kyprianou has announced the hiring of assistant coach Jaimie Robinson to his coaching staff to start the 2025-26 season on Monday (June 30). Robinson will primarily assist with coaching the jumps and combined events crews.
Robinson comes to Illinois after finishing out her collegiate career at Ohio State. She was a two-time Big Ten Champion in the triple jump during the 2022 season and the Big Ten runner-up in the event the following season in 2023. A 2022 USATF Championships triple jump finalist, Robinson was also a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier and three-time USTFCCCA Second-Team All-American in her career at Ohio State.
Prior to OSU, Robinson spent some time at Oregon which was highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at the Pac-12 Championships in 2021 leaping over 13 meters for the second time in her career to this point. Â She began her collegiate career at Alabama where she was a 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier in the triple jump, she finished 20th.
Before college the Flossmoor, Ill. native earned a silver medal in the triple jump at the 2017 Pan American U20 Track and Field Championships in Trujillo, Peru. That same summer she won the triple jump at the U.S. Junior Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
Robinson attended Homewood-Flossmoor high school where she was an Illinois state champion in the long jump, triple jump and 200 meters as a senior in 2017. She set an Illinois all-class record with her winning triple jump mark of 13.01m( 42-8 1/2) while scoring 36 of her school’s 43 points at the 2017 state meet to lead the team to a second-place finish. A year prior, she finished third in the triple jump at the 2016 New Balance Outdoor Nationals and also finished third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump at the 2016 Illinois Class 3A Championships. Robinson finished fourth in the triple jump at the 2016 New Balance Indoor Nationals.
Jaimie is the daughter of NBA Champion and two-time NBA All-Star Glenn Robinson.Â
