Brent Jackson is in his second season at Illinois. He is a defensive assistant in 2020 after serving as a defensive graduate assistant for the 2019 season, working specifically with the defensive backs. Jackson brought four years of Division I coaching experience to Illinois, most recently serving as a defensive quality control coach at Louisiana prior to coming to Champaign-Urbana.

Jackson helped Louisiana reach the 2016 New Orleans Bowl, the inaugural Sun Belt Conference Football Championship Game in 2018, and the 2018 Cure Bowl.

He earned bachelor’s degree in sports management from University of Louisiana-Lafayette in 2017 after finishing an associate’s degree from South Louisiana Community College in 2015.

Jackson is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana.
