2001 Highlights: Recovered from arm injury to pitch five innings in four games • Did not allow a hit in her five innings • Went 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored vs. Texas Southern on Feb. 10. • Batted .500 (5-for-10) with four runs scored for the year.
Prep Highlights: 1999 Gatorade Illinois Player of the Year • 1999 Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year • 1999 Daily Southtown Player of the Year • Named to 1999 Chicago Tribune All-State team • Four-year all-conference recipient • Member of all-area first team for Joliet Herald-News and The Star Publications four consecutive seasons • Compiled a 25-2 record in 1999 with 346 strikeouts and a 0.25 ERA • Allowed only eight earned runs in 1999 season • Pitched in 1999 state semifinal game that went 20 innings and struck out state record 18 batters • Member of 1997 Class AA state championship team as a freshman • Finished 1997 season with a 17-2 record • Selected by San Francisco Chronicle as one of the top four freshman pitchers in the country • Member of Joliet Whiteford Sharks club team that won 1998 AFA National Championship • Coached by Barb Burk at Lockport, Jack Podlesny and Ed Serdar for the Sharks.
