
Two Illini Named to Big Ten Women's Golf Preseason Players to Watch List

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini senior Erica Lee and sophomore Alexis Myers were named to the Big Ten Women's Golf Preseason Players to Watch List, the conference announced Sept. 9.
Lee enters her fourth season with the Orange and Blue after putting together a strong 2025-26 campaign. Coming from Arcadia, Calif., she competed in 36 rounds and helped Illinois to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Stanford Regional. Lee closed the regional with a 71 (-1), climbing nine spots to finish tied for 32nd. She recorded three birdies in the final round and finished with a 4.50 scoring average on par fives. Lee also earned a spot on the WGCA All-American Scholar team following the season.
Myers enters her second season with the Fighting Illini after an impressive freshman campaign. The Northbrook, Ill., native recorded a 74.36 scoring average across 36 rounds and earned the first individual victory of her collegiate career at the Badger Invitational, carding a 207 (-9). Myers also recorded a pair of career-low 67s during the tournament. She added a fifth-place finish at the Boilermaker Spring Classic, where she carded a 217 (+1) and recorded 11 birdies. Myers finished the season with another strong postseason showing, tying for 38th at the NCAA Stanford Regional. She was also named a WGCA All-American Scholar.
The Fighting Illini opened the 2026-27 season on Sept. 8-9 when they traveled to Trophy Club, Texas, to compete in The Bruzzy presented by Ashley Herrera and finished with a tie for 4th/11. Illinois will then head to Madison, Wis., for the Badger Invitational from Sept. 13-15.
