MEDINAH, Ill. – Illinois women's golf is set to host the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah from the Medinah Country Club. The tournament will be held from Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 12-13.
THE SETTING
The Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah will be played on Course No. 2 at Medinah Country Club. Located just 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, Medinah Country Club is widely recognized as one of the premier private clubs in the United States. Founded in 1924 by a group of Shriners, Medinah spans more than 600 acres and features three championship golf courses originally designed by renowned architect Tom Bendelow.
Course No. 2 was originally designed by Bendelow and was restored in 2016. The classic 1925 course reopened in June 2017 after being restored to its original look and strategy.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
This 54-hole stroke play event will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Monday will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT, with 36 holes of continuous play. Tuesday will feature a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT for the final 18 holes.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, the 15-team field features UC Irvine, UCF, Charleston, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Ole Miss, Rice, TCU, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.

LAST TIME OUT
The Illini enter their home tournament following a tie for seventh-place finish at the Windy City Classic in Glencoe, Ill. Illinois carded rounds of 295 (+11), 289 (+5) and 296 (+12) to finish with a team total of 880 (+28).
Erica Lee led the way for the Orange and Blue, finishing tied for 21st at 218 (+5) after closing the tournament with a 70 (-1) in the final round. Sofia Vargas finished tied for 28th at 220 (+7), while Meadow Tian placed tied for 36th at 223 (+10). Tavia Burgess finished 51st at 228 (+15).
ILLINI AT THE ILLINI WOMEN'S INVITATIONAL AT MEDINAH
This will be the eighth time Illinois has hosted the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah. Last season, the Orange and Blue finished fourth with a team score of 852 (-12). Illinois' best finish at the event came in 2018 and 2019, when the Illini finished third.
In last year's event, Illinois carded rounds of 277, 281, and 294 to finish at 852 (-12).
