Illini Tie for 7th at the Windy City Classic

GLENCOE, Ill. – Illinois women's golf finished tied for seventh at the Windy City Classic after carding a team total of 880 (+37) through 54 holes at Lake Shore Country Club.
Erica Lee led the way for the Illini, carding a 70 (-1) in the final round to finish tied for 21st at 218 (+5). Lee opened the tournament with consecutive rounds of 74 (+3) before closing with her under-par round.
Sofia Vargas finished tied for 28th at 220 (+7). After rounds of 75 (+4) and 71 (E) on Monday, Vargas carded a 74 (+3) in the final round.
Meadow Tian finished tied for 36th at 223 (+10). Tian followed an opening-round 77 (+6) with a 70 (-1) in the second round before closing with a 76 (+5).
Tavia Burgess rounded out the Illini lineup with a 76 (+5) in the final round, finishing 51st at 228 (+15). Burgess posted rounds of 74 (+3) and 78 (+7) on Monday.
Alexis Myers did not record a final-round score after posting rounds of 72 (+1) and 74 (+3) through the first two rounds.
The Illini carded a 296 (+12) in the final round to finish at 880 (+28). Stanford claimed the team title at 849 (-3), while Oregon finished second at 859 (+7).
The Illini now look ahead for their very own lllini Women's Invitational at Medinah, Ill., on Oct 12-13.
