CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Head coach Chris Tamas and Fighting Illini student-athletes Vivian Campbell and Kenna Phelan are set to represent the program in Chicago for Big Ten Volleyball Media Day on Aug. 3.
The one-day event, which will feature all 18 Big Ten programs, is slated to take place at the InterContinental Chicago and Big Ten Network Studios.
Phelan enters her second season with the program after earning All-Big Ten Second Team honors in 2025. An AVCA All-Midwest Region Honorable Mention selection, Phelan started all 29 matches for the Fighting Illini and averaged 9.74 assists/set, good for seventh in the conference.

Campbell is now in her third year with the Fighting Illini and has competed in 32 matches and 96 sets during her time with the Orange and Blue. The Oswego, Illinois, native set career-highs on aces and digs during the 2025 campaign, ranking fifth on the team with 15 aces.
Tamas is set to coach his 10th season at the helm of the program ahead of the 2026 campaign, which is scheduled to begin on Aug. 28 with a home match against Cincinnati.
