TOKYO – Illinois high jumper Rose Yeboah qualified to the high jump finals at the World Athletics Championships on Thursday (Sept. 18) with a leap of 1.92m (6-3 1/2).
Yeboah, representing her home country of Ghana, is the first Ghanaian high jumper ever to reach the World Finals. In her two years at Illinois, she's already a national champion (2024) and national runner-up (2025) in the event and now has her sights set on World gold.
She's set to jump in the finals on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 5:30 a.m. CT. Fans who are rising with the sun can watch her jump on Peacock, NBC and FloTrack.
