TOKYO – Illinois track and field assistant coach Ayden Owens-Delerme earned a silver medal in the decathlon at the World Athletics Championships with a score of 8,784 points on Sunday, Sept. 21.
His score of 8,784 points also broke his own Puerto Rican national record which was 8,732 points that he set last year. Fellow assistant coach Heath Baldwin placed sixth in the decathlon scoring 8,337 points while representing the United States.
High jumper Rose Yeboah became the first ever Ghanian women's high jumper to qualify to the world finals where she placed 15th in today's action leaping 1.88m (6-2).
Assistant coach Deanna Price, representing the United States, placed fifth in the hammer throw finals on Monday (Sept. 15) throwing 75.10m (246-4 1/2).
