CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois' J.C. Davis has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Outland Trophy, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced Tuesday.
The Fighting Illini's left tackle is one of 50 returning standout interior linemen, including one of 16 offensive tackles, recognized.
OUTLAND TROPHY
The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the best interior lineman, either on offense or defense, in college football. The trophy is the third-oldest award in college football, and it is named in honor of Dr. John Outland, who was an All-American at Penn in the late 1890s. It is voted on by FWAA members before finalists are selected by the FWAA All-America Committee.
