Three Illinois Staff Members Earn Leadership Positions With N4A

Dr. Stephon Fuqua, Associate Director of Athletics for Academic Services, was elected as the second Vice President of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). He will serve on the organization's executive team through 2028-2029, including as President in 2027-2028. Fuqua previously served at the N4A Region III Director in 2022-2024. 

Solomon Siskind, Student-Athlete Development Coordinator, was a recipient of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) Professional Promise Award. Given annually to one member from each region, the N4A Professional Promise Award honors "new" professionals who serve student-athletes and have dedicated their energy to the Association and its mission. Siskind was also promoted to Vice Chair of the N4A's Research Committee. The Research Committee's mission is to promote the development and implementation of data-driven practices for N4A members and support the ongoing research of scholar practitioners within the Association.   

Celeste Akoro, Assistant Director of Academic Services, was promoted to Vice Chair of the N4A's Academic Programs and Practices Committee. The Academic Programs and Practices Committee's mission is to provide professional development education, networking, and mentoring opportunities for Student-Athlete Academic professionals.
