CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini women's golf is set to compete in the NCAA Columbus Regional at The Ohio State University Golf Course. The three-day tournament will be played on Monday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 7. Illinois will be the No. 8 seed among the 12-team field.
THE SETTING
The NCAA Columbus Regional will be played at The Ohio State University Golf Course on the Scarlet Course. The course was recently renovated by golf legend Jack Nicklaus in 2006. It will be set up for par 72 and will play 6,319 yards long.
CHAMPIONSHIPS FORMAT
Six regional tournaments will be conducted May 5-7 to determine the championships field. A total of 72 teams and 36 individual participants have been selected for regional competition. Of the 396 players participating in the regionals, 156 will advance to the championship finals, with the top five teams and low individual (not on an advancing team) advancing from each regional.
There will be 12 teams competing at each of the six regional tournaments with 18 holes contested on each day of competition.
The NCAA Women's Golf National Championships will be May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., hosted by the University of Texas. The final three days of the championships will be televised live by the GOLF Channel.

ILLINI AT NCAA REGIONALS
This is the 11th overall regional appearance in program history and the seventh in the last eight tournaments, with the with the 2020 national tournament canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Illini posted an 11th-place finish in 2023 at the NCAA San Antonio Regional and a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional two seasons ago. The Illini have advanced to the NCAA Championships once in program history, recording a ninth-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
