PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Illinois softball dropped a Big Ten battle at Rutgers, 8-7, on Saturday at the RU Softball Complex.
The Fighting Illini moved to 21-24 this year and 5-12 in conference play. The Scarlet Knights improved 18-33 overall and 2-16 against league opponents.
Offensively, Adisyn Caryl shined for the Orange and Blue with a 2-for-4Â day at the plate with an RBI. Stevie Meade also went 2-for-4 at the dish with a pair of doubles. Ella Cushing crushed a three-run homer in the seventh, contributing to her team-high four RBI and 2-for-3 outing.Â
