Wilmington, N.C. – Illinois women's golf finished the first round of the Landfall Tradition in 17th place after carding a team total of 302 (+14) through 18 holes.
Anna Ritter led the way with a an even 72 (E) in the first round. She is currently tied for 22nd. Ritter has now led the Illini in four rounds this season.
Victoria Zheng finished the opening round at 74 (+2) tying her for 39th. She is tied for the tournament lead in total pars.
Alexis Myers shot 77 (+5) for her first round. The score puts her tied for 68th.
Erica Lee and Brielle Mapanao both shot 79 (+7) and are tied at 83rd after Day 1.
The Fighting Illini will be back Saturday with second round action starting at 8:30 a.m. CT.
