EVANSTON, Ill. – Illinois soccer (12-3-1, 5-3-1 B1G) fell to Northwestern (7-3-6, 3-2-4 B1G), 1-0, on Thursday night at Martin Stadium.
The lone goal of the night came in the 15th minute off a header by Northwestern's Kelsey Kwon inside the box.
Izzy Lee made six saves tonight as the Wildcats outshot the Illini 17-4 with a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. Illinois' lone shot on net of the night was from Sarah Foley in the 24th minute.
The Fighting Illini soccer team is back in action on Sunday (Oct. 19) to take on No. 16 Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. Kick off is scheduled for noon CT.
