Fighting Illini Cross Country Completes Nuttycombe Invite in Madison

MADISON, Wis. – The Illinois men's and women's cross country teams completed the Nuttycombe Invite in Madison, Wis. on Friday (Sept. 27) from the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. Sophomore Avril Andre led the Illini women in the 6k placing 45th overall with a time of 20:55.1. Junior Alex Partlow paced the Illini men's squad in 63rd place with an 8k time of 24:22.4.
The men's team placed 22nd out of 24 teams with 562 points while the women's team placed 23rd out of 25 teams with 602 points.
Senior Halle Hill was the second Illinois woman to finish, placing 75th overall (21:14.0) and senior Sam Poglitsch rounded out the top-3 Fighting Illini women finishers in 155th place (22:01.0).
Graduate student Joshua Daggett placed 105th overall being the second Illinois man to cross the line (24:44.0) and junior Will Merrick was the third Fighting Illini man to finish in 110th place overall (24:47.0).
Freshman Kennady Anderson made her Illinois debut where she placed 178th overall, fourth among the Orange and Blue women, with a time of 22:42.8.
