Walsh Adds Transfer Megan Sapp to 2025 Roster

NEWS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – At the final bell, head women's gymnastics coach Nadalie Walsh has added redshirt sophomore transfer Megan Sapp to the 2025 roster.

"The mutual respect between the coaches and athletes drew me in," Sapp said. "I could not pass up the opportunity to compete for such an amazing athletic and academic university!"

Sapp joins the Illinois Women's Gymnastics program after a season at Kentucky, though she did not compete. The Rockwall, Tex., native was a two-time national qualifier out of Metroplex Gymnastics.

"My team and staff are really looking forward to having Megan Sapp join our program," said Nadalie Walsh. "She is a phenomenal uneven bars and balance beam worker. Megan carries great energy, and she has learned a lot about what it takes to be a great teammate and leader during her time at the University of Kentucky. Her academics are excellent, and she fits right into our Illini family. I can see Megan being a major contributor in her events, as an upperclassman, and as a leader in the classroom."
