University of Illinois linebacker Kenenna Odeluga was named to the 2024 watch list for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy by the Wuerffel Foundation and the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) on Thursday.
ALLSTATE WUERFFEL TROPHY
The Wuerffel Trophy annually honors college football student-athletes who make an impact on the field, in the community, and in the classroom.The Wuerffel Trophy annually honors college football student-athletes who make an impact on the field, in the community, and in the classroom. Established in 2005, the trophy's voting committee takes into consideration student-athletes' community service work, academic work, and athletic performance. Named in honor of Danny Wuerffel, the Wuerffel Trophy was created to "honor college football players who serve others, celebrate their impact, and inspire greater community service in the world." The award is voted on by national media, retired head coaches, past recipients, and the Wuerffel Trophy Board of Directors.

- Two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (2022 and 2023)
- Served a mission trip to Africa in the summer of 2023
- Visited the Carle Foundation Hospital to meet babies and children of all ages that were dealing with various sicknesses or diseases
- Volunteered to help build a garden at the Salvation Army
- Worked with DREAAM for the organization's community service event, playing with the kids and helping with other parts of the event
- Attended the Black Student Athlete Summit 2024 in Los Angeles, connecting with numerous professionals and athletic faculty members from all around the nation, while cultivating fellowship and lasting relationships with a many of the 1,500 student-athletes in attendance
- Member of Illinois Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as a representative for the football program and being able to be a part of various athletics community initiatives
