LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Illinois softball fell to Michigan, 4-1, at Ulmer Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Orange and Blue dropped to 11-12 on the year, while the Wolverines moved to 16-11 during the 2024 season.

Tori McQueen tossed a complete game, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out three. At the plate, the Fighting Illini were paced by Serena Starks, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double and a walk.

How it Happened

The Wolverines drew first blood, tacking on a run in the opening frame and adding another in the second. Following a pair of scoreless innings for both teams, Michigan tallied another run in the top of the fifth.

Looking to rally in the bottom of the frame, an error, a walk and a single from the bat of Kelly Ryono loaded the bases with one away. Stevie Meade earned a base on balls, scoring the Orange and Blue's only run of the game.

After Michigan recorded a run in the top of the seventh, the Illini went down in order, falling to the Wolverines, 4-1.
