CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Fighting Illini football fans who purchase season tickets by March 1 will receive an exclusive commemorative season ticket honoring the Memorial Stadium 100th Anniversary, the Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced. Season ticket account holders who renew their season ticket by the March 1 deadline, as well as new season ticket purchasers, will receive the commemorative ticket.
The 2024 commemorative ticket prominently features the Memorial Stadium 100th Anniversary logo on an oversized ticket, perfect for display. A commemorative ticket will ship directly to each Fighting Illini season ticket account holder.
March 1 is also the deadline for season ticket holders to be eligible to purchase physical tickets. Illinois had previously announced that all tickets would be mobile beginning in 2024, but to ease the transition, football season ticket holders will have the opportunity for another season of paper tickets if they renew their tickets by March 1. Fans are encouraged to talk to a Fighting Illini Account Manager with any questions about paper tickets, commemorative tickets, or any other topics surrounding their Fighting Illini ticket account.
Illinois announced in January that it will host a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium's dedication. Memorial Stadium's Dedication Game famously occurred against Michigan on Oct. 18, 1924, when Illini legend Red Grange gained national headlines. Grange scored four touchdowns in the first 12 minutes of the Dedication Game, then ran for a fifth touchdown and threw for a sixth to take down the previously undefeated Wolverines.
The Fighting Illini are set to host Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, 100 years and one day from Grange's historic performance. The game will be marked as Memorial Stadium's "Rededication Game" with the 100th anniversary celebration lasting throughout the 2024 season.
After the 2023 FamILLy First campaign saw an increase of more than 10,000 new season tickets sold, the DIA looks to continue to grow the strong community atmosphere and gameday experience at Memorial Stadium. To continue the FamILLy First initiative of the 2023 season, season ticket prices start at only $100 to provide an affordable entry point for all fans. The price also pays tribute to Memorial Stadium's 100th Anniversary.
Fans that have already renewed or purchased new season tickets do not need to take any action. A Memorial Stadium 100th Anniversary commemorative ticket will be mailed to the address associated with your account.
