Illinois Women’s Gymnastics Releases 2025 Schedule

NEWS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois women's gymnastics head coach Nadalie Walsh announced the squad's 2025 schedule on Wednesday.  

The Illini will host five contests throughout the 2025 campaign. Most of Illinois' competitions will be on the road, including the first-ever conference trip out west to new Big Ten opponent UCLA. 

JANUARY 

The Illini will open their season with a quad meet at Ball State on Jan. 12. This will mark Illinois' third time facing the Cardinals, its second matchup vs. SEMO, and the first meeting with UW-Eau Claire. 

The return to Huff Hall the following week (Jan. 18) will mark the opening of Big Ten competition, as the Fighting Illini face Nebraska before taking to Los Angeles to face the Bruins on Jan. 25.  

Illinois rounds out the month in Happy Valley vs. Penn State (Jan. 31).

FEBRUARY 

Illinois begins February in Champaign to take on Ohio State on Feb. 7. Two days later, the Orange and Blue will look to defend Huff Hall against Missouri for the first of two times this season.  

On Feb. 14, the Illini travel to St. Louis to face Missouri, Iowa and Alabama. They will continue their road trip at Iowa on Feb. 16. 

Washington is slated to visit Huff Hall for the first time on Feb. 22, marking Illinois' final Big Ten home meet of the season. 

MARCH 

The B1G 4 (formerly B1G 5) meet kicks off March in College Park, Md. The Illini will face Maryland, Michigan and Minnesota in this year's iteration of the competition. 

On March 8, Illinois takes on Western Michigan, Central Michigan, and Wilberforce in Battle Creek, Mich. 

Finally, the Orange and Blue return home for their final home meet of the season on March 16, when they face Northern Illinois. After a week of preparation, the gymnasts will head to the Big Ten Championships on March 21 (location TBA).

APRIL 

Illinois will look to make its 21st consecutive NCAA regional appearance on April 2. Potential regional locations for the 2025 season include Salt Lake City; Seattle; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and University Park, Pa.  

The NCAA Championships will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
