CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - With spring sports coming down the homestretch for Illinois Athletics, Fighting Illini coaches and staff got in on the action themselves during the YMCA Corporate Cup Challenge on May 18-19. The Stephens Family YMCA's Corporate Cup Challenge is Champaign's exclusive one-of-a-kind Olympic-style fundraising event promoting team building and health and wellness in the workplace for local companies and organizations.
Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) representatives competed in a variety of challenges including 3-on-3 basketball, rock climbing, a paper airplane contest, dodgeball and golf chipping on Thursday evening at the Stephens Family YMCA. On Friday, the competition moved to Grange Grove and featured Euchre, volleyball, cornhole, trivia and a surprise event to close the Cup.
The Illini finished fourth with a total of 40Â points, finishing behind first-place Cozad Asset Management, Busey Bank and First Federal.

Teams supported the Y's Scholarship Fund, which annually benefits over 900 families and individuals, who would otherwise not have access to programs and services. Trophies were presented to both the overall Challenge Winner and the Fundraising Champion.
