JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Illinois track and field teams completed the first day of action at the East Coast Relays on Friday, April 28 from Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville. Graduate student Emma Milburn won the 3,000m steeplechase and recorded the school's third fastest time (10:15.79). Redshirt junior Ayah Aldadah placed right behind Milburn in competition and the record book (10:16.46). Junior Anthony Maida followed that up with a win in the men's 3,000m steeplechase with a new personal-best time (9:11.99).
Junior Robert Williams sprinted the fastest 400m hurdles in the Big Ten this year (50.66). He placed second with his new personal-best time, sophomore DeVontae Ford placed fifth (51.79).
Senior Alex Babbington tied his personal-best high jump to place second in today's competition, 2.13m (6-11 3/4). Junior Tyler Sudduth claimed silver in the shot put with a throw of 18.67m (61-3); it's his fourth time placing in the top-two this season.
Freshman Olivia Campbell continues to shine in the hammer throw. She placed third today on a 57.76m (189-6) throw and this is her fourth top-three placement this season. Freshman Mia Morello earned bronze in the pole vault, 4.05m (13-3 1/2).
Sophomore Tacoria Humphrey secured fourth in the long jump on a 6.04m (19-9 3/4) hop. Redshirt junior Colin Yandel set a new personal-best in his fifth place finish in the 1,500m (3:47.34).
Graduate student Bret Dannis set a new personal-best in the long jump [7.12m (23-4 1/2)] and freshman Azariyah Bryant did so in the 200m (23.94).

The track and field teams are back in action tomorrow April 29 for the second and final day of the East Coast Relays. Field events are slated to begin at 10 a.m. and track events will begin at 11 a.m. CT.
