Fans Encouraged to Use 'Artivive' for Sunday's Meet

NEWS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Men's Gymnastics will be incorporating the augmented reality application 'Artivive' into their meet day experience, starting on March 12 vs. Nebraska.

Using their phone cameras, fans will be able to scan the athlete's banner located across Huff Hall and be amazed as they deliver special messages to Illini Nation.

The videos being incorporated were created and programmed by Grant Baucom, the team's manager and design student here at the University of Illinois.

Fans do not need to create an account, just allow access to their camera. The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The Illini will take on the Cornhuskers at 3 p.m., with doors opening to fans at 2 p.m.
