ILLINI AT THE DAYTON FLYER INVITATIONAL
The 2023 Dayton Flyer Invitational marks the second consecutive season that the Fighting Illini will compete in the event. The Illini won the 2022 team title, battling blustery, windy, and wet conditions, in addition to strong pushes from runner-up Marquette and 36-hole leader Wright State, to win by four strokes.
Jackson Buchanan and Jerry Ji both played in last year's event for the Illini. Buchanan finished T14, while Ji competed as an individual and tied for 39th. Transfers Tyler Goecke (Wright State) and Timmy Crawford (Loyola Chicago) also played in the event last year, with Goecke finishing as runner-up and Crawford tying for 11th.
