FIFTH-YEAR SENIOR - 2023-24 

  • Joined the Fighting Illini program as a graduate transfer for his final year of collegiate eligibility after four seasons at Wright State
  • Recognized as a GCAA PING All-American (honorable mention) 
  • Earned NCAA All-Championship Team honors as a top-15 finisher (T2) in stroke play at the NCAA Championship
  • Competed in 12 of 13 stroke play events, including 11 in the Illini lineup
  • Posted a season stroke average of 72.19, sixth on the team, over 36 rounds
  • Closed his career with his best finishes as an Illini in back-to-back postseason tournaments with a T5 at the NCAA Stanford Regional and a T2 at the NCAA Championship
  • Carded a 10-under 200 (65-67-68) to help Illinois to the team title at the NCAA Stanford Regional
  • Shot a 72-hole total of 2-under 286 (73-73-69-71) to finish tie for runner-up, one shot off the lead, in stroke play at the NCAA Championship 
  • Best finish of the regular season was a tie for 10th as an individual competitor at the Hal Williams Collegiate (Feb. 12-13) with a then-season-best score of 4-under 209 (69-70-70)
  • In addition to his T2 finish at the NCAA Championshp, finished as the top player in Illinois' lineup in back-to-back tournaments to open the spring schedule, a T12 finish at the Southern Highlands Collegiate (Feb. 25-27) at 1-under 215 (67-76-72), and a T14 finish at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island (March 11-12) with a 4-under 212 (71-68-73)
  • Ranked fourth on the team with 16 of 36 rounds at par or better, and seven rounds in the 60s
  • Carded his lowest single round of the season, a 5-under 65, in the opening round of the NCAA Stanford Regional

SENIOR - 2022-23 (AT WRIGHT STATE)

  • Captured the 2023 Horizon League Championship individual title
  • Earned his second straight Horizon League Golfer of the Year honor, just the third player in League history to win multiple honors
  • Added All-Horizon League first-team honors
  • Tallied two tournament wins and added four second-place finishes while placing inside the top 10 in 10 of 12 events
  • Qualified as an individual to compete at the NCAA Bath (Mich.) Regional. 
  • Closed his Wright State career as the program's all-time leader with a stroke average of 71.29

JUNIOR - 2021-22 (AT WRIGHT STATE)

  • Named the 2021-22 Horizon League Golfer of the Year, the fifth player in Wright State history to do so, along with a first-team All-Horizon League nod
  • Finished the year with a program-record 70.47 scoring average in 34 total rounds played
  • Captured four individual titles and finished inside the top five on six other occasions, including a second-place finish at the 2022 Horizon League Championship
  • Turned in a T-12 finish at the NCAA Columbus Regional (even par final score)
  • Named to the GCAA PING Midwest All-Region team

SOPHOMORE - 2020-21 (AT WRIGHT STATE)

  • Played in five tournaments with the Raiders and one additional tournament as an individual
  • Best finish was a tie for 3rd overall individually at the Wright State Invitational shooting a 69 in the second round
  • Best round was a 68 in the second round of the Dayton Flyers Invitational
  • Tied for 10th overall with four birdies at the Horizon League Championship, helping the Raiders to a second place finish
  • Finished the year with a 72.71 scoring average in 17 total rounds played
  • Earned Horizon All-League First Team Honors

FRESHMAN - 2019-20 (AT WRIGHT STATE)

  • Played in seven tournaments
  • Best finish was a tie for first at the Orlando Invitational shooting a 221 after three rounds, leading the Raiders to a first place team finish
  • Best round was a 68 in the final round of the Savannah Invitational
  • Horizon League Player of the Week (3/11/2020)
  • Finished the year with a 72.86 scoring average in 21 total rounds played

  • Son of Chris and Kim Goecke
  • Has two brothers, Alex and Caleb, and a sister, Meredith
  • Grandfather played golf at Ohio University in the 1960s
  • Completed bachelor’s degree in finance from Wright State in May 2023
  • Working towards a master’s degree in management at Illinois
  • Why Illinois?: "I chose Illinois for the culture and success of the program. Illinois has a great history of professional golfers and I look forward to learning from Coach Small and Coach Sondjaja."
