LINCOLN, Neb. – The Illinois women's tennis team battled for over three hours to earn a come-from-behind 4-3 win over Nebraska at the Dillon Tennis Center on Sunday (April 3).
The Illini moved their win streak to four matches, improving to 12-6 on the season and 5-1 in the Big Ten.
After dropping the doubles points with a pair of 6-3 setbacks on courts one and two, the Illini fell into a 2-0 deficit following a Husker singles win on court two. Back-to-back victories from freshman Megan Heuser and sophomore Kate Duong evened the score at 2-2 as Heuser posted a 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Chloe Kuckelman on court four and Duong turned in a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kristina Novak at No. 1 singles.
Freshman Kasia Treiber earned her fourth-straight singles win with a 6-1, 6-4 decision against Ellie Kuckelman on court five to put the Illini within one point of victory, but the Huskers (10-8, 3-3 B1G) took a win on court six to knot the score at 3-3.
All eyes shifted to court three as junior Josie Frazier fought for a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Isabel Gallego to send the Illini to the 4-3 victory.

Illinois returns to Atkins Tennis Center for its second-to-last regular season home match against Purdue on Friday (April 8) at 1 p.m. CT, before traveling to University Park, Pa., to take on Penn State on Sunday (April 10) at 11 a.m. CT.
