MADISON, Wis. – Illinois men's tennis defeated #3 seeded and host school Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals on Friday evening. Illinois rallied to win four singles matches after losing the doubles point.
Gabe Guzauskas and Alex Brown defeated Pratt/ Dzhurinskiy 6-3 in doubles and both picked up wins during singles. Brown put the Illini on the board, defeating Sebastian Vile 6-3,6-4 on court 4.
The Orange and Blue momentum continued with wins by #58 Olivier Stuart and Montsi. Stuart defeated Gabriel Huber 7-5,6-2 on court 3. Montsi gave Illinois a 3-1 lead with his 6-4,6-3 victory over Lenard Soha on court 2.
Guzauskas batted through a three set match to clinch the match for Illinois. The freshman defeat Tim Dzhurinskiy 6-2,3-6,6-4 on court 6 to send the Illini to tomorrow's semifinals.
