ENTER TO WIN | CHAMPAIGN COUNTY COVID-19 VACCINATION STATISTICS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics is encouraging all Fighting Illini fans to get the COVID-19 vaccination before the upcoming football season by rewarding them with a chance to win a Memorial Stadium suite for the Illinois football season opener against Nebraska on Aug. 28.

"We are able to get back to hosting Illinois sporting events this year in front of fans because of one reason, and that is our community, state and our fans are getting vaccinated," Director of Athletics Josh Whitman said. "While we are pleased with our progress in the state, we need do better, and the DIA wants to reward those who are already fully vaccinated and those who get vaccinated this summer before the start of the season."

Fans who enter will have a chance to win a complementary suite at Memorial Stadium for the Aug. 28 game vs. Nebraska. The suite comes with 18 tickets to the game, four parking passes, as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages for those in attendance. Illinois will also be giving away $500 shopping sprees at Gameday Spirit to two additional winners.

Currently, Champaign County has vaccinated 55% of its eligible population (12 years and older). If that number reaches 70% by Aug. 15, the DIA will give away a second suite to the season opener.

The drawing will take place on Monday, Aug. 16, giving fans a full four weeks to get both doses of the vaccination and be fully vaccinated by game time (two weeks post second shot). Vaccination verification will take place once winners have been selected. All fans that have been previously vaccinated before this announcement are eligible.
