CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Fighting Illini football players Chase Brown and Sydney Brown are among 11 students from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign that will be featured in an edition of "The College Tour," an Amazon Prime series that gives admitted and prospective students the opportunity to tour campuses virtually and learn about academic and extracurricular experiences available to undergraduates.
A virtual watch party for the episode's premier is scheduled for Sunday, May 23, at 7 p.m. CDT. The episode will be available beginning at that time on YouTube at go.illinois.edu/thecollegetour, along with additional interviews with the featured students, host Alex Boylan and executive producer Lisa Hennessy, an Illinois alumna in speech communication.
"This project was exciting for us," Chase said. "It was a great way to tell our unique story as students and football players on this campus, and show off what a great place Illinois is to excel at both of those endeavors."
"It was important to include Illinois Athletics in this campus profile because the spirit of Illinois students really shines at sporting events, especially in Memorial Stadium," Sydney said. "As students from Canada, I know this show would have been really helpful for my brother and myself as we were making our college decisions."
The Browns hail from London, Ontario with each brother arriving on campus at different times. Sydney, a junior defensive back, has started 25 games for the Illini over the past three seasons and has recorded 179 tackles, five tackles for loss and four interceptions. Chase, a sophomore running back, had a breakout season in 2020 after transferring to Illinois from Western Michigan. He rushed for 540 yards and three touchdowns last season. Both brothers have received All-Big Ten honors while at Illinois.
