Noe Khlif | SR, Men's Tennis | Master of Science in Accountancy

The Fighting Illini advanced to the Sweet 16 after soundly defeating Notre Dame 4-0 on Saturday afternoon, May 8th. Illinois came out with energy and focused. In doubles, Noé Khlif and Siphos Montsi defeated Brandon Ancona and William Howells 6-3 before Hunter Heck and Aleks Kovacevic won 6-3 over Matthew Che and Richard Ciamarra. Khlif was the first Illini to finish in singles, defeating Brandon Ancona 6-2, 6-0 in 45 minutes.

On Friday, the Illini defeated DePaul 4-1. "Three things stood out to me today," said head coach Brad Dancer. "DePaul, what a great team effort from them, they put up a great challenge for us. I think they've got great coaches and great players on their team. Two, it was a very very windy day and that played a large factor in all of today's matches. And three, I thought we had some exceptional performances today. Hunter, Siphos were both exceptional today and also Noe, he was really really good today." Illinois won four straight singles matches after losing the doubles point. In singles, Noe Khlif clinched the match for the Orange and Blue on court six. He came back after falling down early in the first set to defeat Luuk Wassenaar 7-5, 6-2.

Khlif graduated over the weekend with other Illini student-athletes with his Master of Science in Accountancy.
