CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini third baseman Delaney Rummell earned NFCA Player of the Week and B1G Co-Player of the Week honors, the NFCA and Big Ten Conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.Â
Rummell hit .750 (9-for-12) with 10 RBI, helping the Illini to three Big Ten wins over Purdue last weekend. She recorded three multi-hit and multi-RBI games, registered four extra-base hits, and slugged 1.250. Rummell was 3-for-3 in games one and three, doubling twice and driving in a career high five runs in the series opener. The Gilberts, Ill. native added a home run and three RBI in game two before posting two more runs batted in the third meeting. Playing the hot corner, Rummell did not make an error in 10 chances and was part of a 5-4-3 double play.

• Posted a .750 batting average, 1.250 slugging percentage and .692 on-base percentage in last weekend's series victory over Purdue, collecting in nine hits (four for extra bases, including a home run) and 10 RBI
• Had nearly half of team's 21 RBI during the four-game series, highlighted by a career-high five RBI in April 16 series-opening win
• Recorded multiple hits in three of the four games, including 3-for-3 outings in the first and third games
• Earns her first career Player of the Week honor
