CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois men's tennis won their eighth straight match Sunday afternoon, defeating Michigan State 7-0. Illinois took the doubles point before winning all six singles matches.
Noé Khlif and Siphosothando Montsi defeated Reed/Drew 6-1 on Court 2 before No. 28 Zeke Clark and Alex Brown defeated No. 38 Williams/Kazuki 6-0. Aleks Kovacevic and Alex Bancila were leading 5-4 when play stopped.
Khlif picked up the first singles point for Illinois. He defeated Jarreau Campbell 6-3,6-2. Quickly after, Hunter Heck defeated Graydon Lair 6-2,6-1 on Court 4. Zeke Clark clinched the match for Illinois on Court 3. He defeated Anthony Pero in straight sets (6-2,6-3).
Lucas Horve finished next, defeating Kazuki Matsuno 6-4,6-2 on Court 6. After winning a first set tiebreak 7-5, Montsi defeated Carson Gates 7-6(5), 6-1 on Court 1. In the final match, No. 119Alex Brown went into a third set.  Brown defeated Nick Williams 6-4,5-7, 11-9.
This is the Illini's second sweep of the season. Both Zeke Clark and Siphos Montsi extended their winning streaks. Clark is 10-0 and Montsi is 12-0.Â

Illinois hosts Wisconsin and Minnesota next weekend. They play Friday at 3 pm and Sunday at noon. Sunday, Illinois will honor the senior class.
