SUNSET, S.C. — Tristyn Nowlin is tied for the third at 2-under to lead the Illinois women's golf team in the first 27 holes of the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. Illinois was in fifth place at +10 in the second round before play was stopped due to darkness on Friday.
Nowlin rode three straight birdies on holes 3-5 to a 2-under 70 in the first round. She is even par through nine holes of the second round with one birdie and one bogey.
Illinois has two other players in the tournament's top 25: Crystal Wang (+1, T11) and Isabel Sy (+3, T25).
The tournament played 27 holes Friday due to forecasted inclement weather later in the weekend. The second round resumes at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday.
