MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Fighting Illini women's gymnastics team finished tied for third with a score of 196.625 at the Big Ten Championships on Saturday night.
They scored a season-best 49.300 on vault. The score is the fifth best in program history. Lexi Powe and Mia Takekawa both scored career-high on the event. Takekawa put up a 9.900 and Powe a 9.875. Mia Townes also scored a 9.900 with her vault.
They started the session on beam, scoring a 48.925 on the event. The went to floor next scoring a 49.350. Kaitlyn Ewald lead the event with 9.80. Three Illini scored 9.850, including Abby Mueller who tied her career-high. Shaylah Scott anchored the event with a 9.925.
They finished the night on bars, scoring a 49.050. Four gymnasts scored a 9.800 and Olivia O'Donnell scored a team-best 9.850.

Illinois will learn their seeding and NCAA regional location on Monday at 4 pm CT. Regionals are schedule to take place the weekend of April 1-3.
